Increasing levels of homelessness in Europe

Question for written answer E-003757-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Charles Tannock (ECR)

A report published in March this year by the European housing body FEANTSA (the European Federation of National Organisations Working with the Homeless), entitled ‘The Second Overview of Housing Exclusion in Europe 2017’, states that homelessness in Europe is at crisis point and increasing in every Member State except Finland. The demographic of the homeless population is also changing and now includes more young people, migrants, Roma and other disadvantaged minorities, as well as women and families. My constituency of London is singled out as a city where the housing system is particularly under strain.
