Removal of the regulation on possible derogation from the proposal on restricting active ingredients which interfere with hormone balance

Question for written answer E-004347-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Norbert Erdős (PPE)

We have learned that the Commission has removed the possibility for Member States to obtain exemptions and derogations from its original proposal for limits on active ingredients that are found in pesticides and upset hormone balance. As a result of that move, experts from the Member States may no longer discuss this issue as one in the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health.

Why has the situation taken that turn? What is the detailed technical reason for the separation of the term of and limit for active ingredients that upset hormone balance and derogation from restrictions on it?
