Implementation of EU fire safety regulations by the UK Government

Question for written answer E-004395-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Neena Gill (S&D)

The Grenfell Tower fire tragedy of 14 June in the UK has made clear the importance of ensuring proper implementation of potentially life-saving EU regulations on fire safety.

To date, the number of blocks where cladding has failed fire safety tests after the Grenfell disaster has increased to 95, including hospitals and student homes.

What steps has the Commission taken to monitor the implementation of EU regulations on fire safety, including the Construction Products Regulation, (EU) No 305/2011, in the UK?
