Wind farms are commonly found throughout Europe. They are considered an alternative to fossil fuels, yet according to scientists, they bring some risks to the ecosystem and to humans (including audible noise, infrasound, electromagnetic noise, shadow flickering, climate change).[1]

The most frequently raised issues are as follows: disturbance to migratory birds, forest animals, among others, and the negative impact of farms on human health: increased susceptibility to allergies and cardiac disorders, poorer immune defence system etc.

2. Is the Commission aware of the recent research on the impact of wind farms on the environment, especially on wild animals and migratory birds?

3. How will the Commission protect EU citizens from the adverse effects of wind farms in the EU?
