Is the Commission aware of the procedural obstacles whereby the French department of St. Martin is eligible under the EU Solidarity Fund for reconstruction aid following Hurricane Irma, but the Dutch part of the island (Sint Maarten, a country which is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) is not?

Is the Commission prepared to apply a degree of flexibility so that Sint Maarten, a country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, can also be eligible for aid from the EU Solidarity Fund for reconstruction following Hurricane Irma?
