Databank for pilot projects in the fisheries sector

Question for written answer E-007259-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Renata Briano (S&D)

Implementation of the common fisheries policy (CFP) has always been underpinned by specific financial instruments in support of the sector, such as the PESCA initiative in 1994‐1999, the FIGF in 2000‐2006, the EFF in 2007‐2013 and the EAFRD for 2014‐2020.

These instruments have also funded, or are funding, experimental activities and pilot projects as well as the different intervention measures.

To be truly effective, the former need to be made more widely known, so they may be replicated as good practice throughout the whole of the EU.

Due provision should be made, therefore, to ensure these subsidised activities are properly publicised and their outcomes disseminated and made known.

Has the Commission, with transparency in mind, set up a databank through which information can be disseminated on pilot projects financed through the various funds for the fisheries and aquaculture sector? If so, can this be consulted online? If not, is a databank of this kind in the pipeline?
