The first evaluation of the Commission’s adopted Code of Conduct on tackling online hate speech with social media companies shows that fewer than 40% of notifications of alleged online hate speech are reviewed by social media providers within 24 hours. What discussions have Commission representatives had with social media providers since the publication of this evaluation with a view to securing faster review times concerning alleged online hate, and what specific action is the Commission taking to address this issue?
