Collective redress for compensation to EU consumers

Question for written answer E-007755-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Doru-Claudian Frunzulică (S&D)

Not all Member States in the EU provide for effective forms of judicial collective action and, where collective redress mechanisms are available, their effectiveness is inconsistent. In 2013, the Commission adopted a recommendation on common principles for judicial collective redress.

Does the Commission plan to take further action in this area in order to guarantee an effective collective redress procedure for compensation for all EU consumers?

Does it plan to put forward a proposal for a binding EC law on the subject?
