Anti-EU indoctrination in Catalan schools

In its latest report, the Acción para la Mejora de la Enseñanza Secundaria (Campaign to Improve Secondary Education) union has concluded that indoctrination and historical distortion are widespread in the Catalan education system. Spain is demonised in geography and history books, and Spain and Catalonia are portrayed as being in constant conflict.

The report also states that this historical distortion extends to the EU, which is presented as ‘weak’ and ‘a failure’, while leaving EU institutions and the single currency is advocated as a solution to the current political and economic situation.

Considering that the Convention on the Rights of the Child protects minors from the unlawful use of education for political purposes, and that various Commission provisions, such as the 2020 strategic framework for education and training (ET 2020), seek to improve the quality of education and promote social cohesion:
