While he was visiting Croatia, Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič said that the construction of the LNG terminal in Krk is helping to achieve key EU goals, for example diversification of supply and better connectivity; the Krk project, in his view, is important not just for Croatia, but for the energy security of the EU as a whole, since it will enable gas to be transported in all directions, enhance competitiveness on the market, and make for lower prices.
Citing figures on the same occasion, Vice-President Šefčovič put the gas price fall brought about by the Lithuanian terminal at 20% to 30%.
According to the Commission’s estimates, to what extent could gas prices be reduced by the Krk LNG terminal?
