Rule 130
Sotirios Zarianopoulos (NI)

About 120 refugees and migrants in Lesbos fell victim to a murderous attack by fascists who left the scene without being confronted and without any arrests or prosecutions. The refugees and migrants who were victims of the attack are now facing charges of contempt and illegal occupation of a public space, as they had gathered on Sappho Square in Lesbos. They were protesting the appalling conditions at the Moria camp and their entrapment on the island as a result of the unacceptable agreement between the European Union and Turkey.

According to complaints that have been made public, about 200 right-wing extremists, fascists and hooligans threatened people by throwing stones, metal tools and naval flares, beat up refugees, set fire to property and threatened journalists — all this under the indifferent gaze of the police who sprayed the refugees with chemical agents.
