The EU Timber Regulation[1] aims to prevent illegal timber from entering the EU market and support international efforts to halt deforestation, protect the natural environment and fight climate change.
This regulation requires companies to check for and assess the risk of illegally harvested wood in their supply chains.
Can the Commission provide information on what actions national governments have taken to make the EU Timber Regulation as effective as possible?
Has it taken legal action against any Member State for failing to enforce this illegal logging legislation properly?
