VP/HR — The Rohingya minority in Myanmar

Question for written answer E-004643-18
to the Commission (Vice-President/High Representative)
Rule 130
Marlene Mizzi (S&D)

The human rights situation of the Rohingya minority in Myanmar has deteriorated dramatically. More than 700 000 people have had to flee and 10 000 have been killed in acts which are to be regarded as mass massacres. Furthermore, sexual violence has been used as a weapon of war and inhumane acts have been committed against the civilian Rohingya minority population in the Rakhine, Kachin and Shan States.

Can the VP/HR outline what measures the EU is taking to urge the Government of Myanmar to improve the inhumane situation of the Rohingya minority and to bring the perpetrators to justice?
