On 20 January 2015, the Italian Government exercised its substitutive powers by stopping the hunting of certain types of bird earlier than the date laid down in the hunting calendars in some regions of Italy, justifying this extraordinary decision on the basis of requests forming part of the EU Pilot 6955/14/ENVI procedure.
In the light of the above, can the Commission state:
- 1.Whether it was among its intentions for extraordinary measures such as this to be taken under the EU Pilot 6955/14/ENVI procedure?
- 2.Whether the EU would have launched infringement proceedings against Italy had this extraordinary measure not been taken?
