What is the Commission's position on the anti-democratic methods used by the Erdoğan regime in Turkey against artists and writers and even ordinary citizens? Those who are alleged to disagree with him, or are suspected of so doing, are being arrested, imprisoned and dismissed from their jobs.

Can Turkey continue the accession process and open new chapters under these conditions?

Does it envisage the possibility of freezing of Turkey's accession process until that country returns to democratisation and respects basic human rights in practice?
