Brexit/budget

Question for written answer P-007981-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Hans-Olaf Henkel (ECR)

Theresa May, the British Prime Minister, has said that she will trigger Article 50 by the end of March 2017. Despite speculations, it seems that Brexit will be happening. The United Kingdom is the second largest contributor to the EU budget, and will most likely leave the EU by the end of 2019. However, current budget plans go beyond that year and do not take into account the withdrawal of the UK’s contribution.

Is the Commission planning a revision of the budget? If not, what likely course of action would the Commission suggest?
