Living conditions in the Moria refugee camp

Question for written answer P-000199-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Ilhan Kyuchyuk (ALDE)

Untypical weather conditions in south-eastern Europe marked by icy temperatures and snow have killed more than 60 people. Unfortunately, worsening weather conditions have made life even harder for thousands of refugees living in limbo across countries in the region, and particularly for those who are living in the Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos. In the Moria refugee camp, between 250 and 500 refugees are still living in outdoor tents which are not winter-proof. Alas, refugees are not only living in unheated tents but also lack hot water, blankets and heaters.

What steps does the Commission intend to take to improve the living conditions in the Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos?
