Is the Commission aware that the effect of recent EU regulations has been a complete stop to commercial shore fishing for sea bass off the coast of the UK? Was this its intention, and what plans, if any, does it have to compensate fishermen for the loss of their livelihoods after generations of established and traditional practice?
