It was very clear that members of the Committee on Development accepted this process only on the basis that it does not set a precedent for the diminution of Parliament’s powers in the future, that we fully expect codecision between Parliament and the Council to be respected and expect this to be underlined by the Commission, and that this forms part of the agreement that we made as part of this conciliation process.
