  Algirdas Šemeta, Member of the Commission. − Mr President, honourable Members, the Commission welcomes the European Parliament’s decision to grant discharge to the Commission for the implementation of the 2010 budget. I am particularly grateful to Mr Fjellner, with whom I have had excellent relations throughout the whole discharge process.

Today’s vote acknowledges that the budget has overall been properly managed. It also points out many challenges for all actors involved in the management and control of EU funds. With the final vote today, Parliament submits an extensive list of requests to the Commission. The Commission services are already working on the replies and follow-ups, and the Commission will report back in early autumn. Thank you very much for your vote.
