Cristian Dan Preda (PPE). Monsieur le Président, les négociateurs des différents groupes politiques se sont mis d'accord pour demander le report de ce vote à la prochaine miniplénière. Merci de l'accepter.

Richard Howitt (S&D). Mr President, I chaired the negotiations on this resolution, which is on the plenary agenda at the request of my Group. In discussion between the S&D Group and the EPP Group, we will jointly be supporting a postponement. It is just for two weeks. There is a humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen. We want this Parliament to resolve its position, but there is a very important delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee this weekend, and we believe our influence to implement what we believe in will be maximised by delaying this vote.

There are some that are trying to suggest that the postponement is part of a plot to undermine a strong Parliament position. I am delighted that we have that position, and I am in fact very grateful that the EPP has signed up to the joint text, which I know they were unable to commit to at the meeting. They have now done so. So there are no plots, but this is the best way to influence what we believe in.

Alyn Smith (Verts/ALE). Mr President, I have much respect for the rapporteurs, but we do not agree to this postponement. The situation in Yemen is grave. We have been working on this resolution for a long time. There is a majority in this House to take a strong and progressive position on an urgent conflict where people are dying on a daily basis. There is no good reason why we should delay this. The resolution is good to go now. We have a majority in this House for a strong and progressive position. There is no good reason to delay it. I hope we vote on it today.
