Ramon Tremosa i Balcells (ALDE), in writing. ‒ ICT and the internet have revolutionised and substantially changed the way people are connected, they receive and send information, communicate, study and work, enabling other opportunities to participate in public debate, education and work.

Education and training are fundamental to the empowerment of women in society and the labour market, especially for women who are 55 years old or more. It is also fundamental to ensure access to internet connections for all the population, especially in rural areas.

I supported this proposal to integrate a gender perspective into all digital initiatives, as despite the real danger of harassment and violence against women on the network, with good training and protection this would enhance access for women to the labour market, and would promote their entrepreneurial spirit and participation in our society in an equitable manner.
