Amendment 1

Rule 15

After the election of the Vice-Presidents, Parliament shall elect five Quaestors. The Quaestors shall be elected by the same procedure as the Vice-Presidents. After the election of the Vice-Presidents, Parliament shall elect six Quaestors. The Quaestors shall be elected by the same procedure as the Vice-Presidents.

Amendment 2

Rule 182, paragraph 1

1. At the first committee meeting after the election of committee members pursuant to Rule 177, the committee shall elect a bureau consisting of a chairman and one, two or three vice-chairmen who shall be elected in separate ballots. 1. Justification

With a view to ensuring that parliamentary business can be conducted effectively, the number of office-holders should be brought into line with the substantial increase in the number of Members following the accession of Romania and Bulgaria on 1 January 2007.
