Motion for a European Parliament resolution on the overhaul of European strategy for tackling unemployment

The European Parliament,

–       having regard to Rule 133 of its Rules of Procedure,

A.     whereas in the 2015 Annual Growth Survey, the Commission has proposed an integrated approach built around three main pillars – boosting investment, accelerating structural reforms and pursuing responsible growth-friendly fiscal consolidation;

B.     whereas the European Parliament itself has officially confirmed that EU austerity policies have failed;

1.      Calls on the Commission to develop a new strategy based on the overhaul of the Stability Pact and improved access to credit for businesses, rather than restrictive budgetary policies.
