Parliamentary questions
24 January 2007
ORAL QUESTION for Question Time at the part-session in February 2007 pursuant to Rule 109 of the Rules of Procedure by Liam Aylward to the Commission

 Subject: Voluntary modulation

Irish farmers are paying 5% of their premia payments this year to the Irish Government under the process of voluntary modulation.

Does the European Commission fully recognise that the value of farmers’ premia payments is being devalued over time due to inflation? Accordingly, will the European Commission give a commitment that it will not seek to change the rules governing the operation of the voluntary modulation scheme between now and 2013?
