Renewal of contracts by the Commission for the supply of computer software
20.1.2011
Question for written answer E-000507/2011
to the Commission
Rule 117
Georgios Papastamkos (PPE)
In its answer (14 May 2008) to my Question E‑1533/2008, the Commission provided information about the duration of contracts to supply software for computers used by EU employees and officials, which was 3 years (starting in 2007), extendable for a further year. According to the above, the Commission is expected to sign new contracts in the course of 2011.
Will the Commission say:
- —Which procedure is it following, which of its services is responsible, and what stage have negotiations reached? Will it inform MEPs about this activity?
- —Has it carried out an evaluation of services and products received during the four-year period 2007‑11? If so, which criteria were used in the evaluation?
- —With a view to the conclusion of new supply contracts, will it bear in mind, , that it has repeatedly initiated legal proceedings for serious breaches of EU competition rules against the company which has so far been its contractual partner?
