Danish expatriates unable to vote in Danish Parliament elections

Question for written answer E-008488/2011
to the Commission
Rule 117
Morten Løkkegaard (ALDE)
Danish nationals resident abroad for more than two years lose their right to vote in Danish Parliament elections without becoming entitled to vote in their country of residence, including where that country is also an EU Member State.
In the Commission’s view, is the fact that Danish nationals become ineligible to vote in national elections in this way in breach of the Treaty?
