On 25 October, the Israeli police handed a closing order to four registered Palestinian Jerusalemite NGOs for one month. These four NGOs, which all provide services for the Palestinian community in Jerusalem, are:
Shua'a Women Association (dedicated to the empowering of women in Jerusalem),
Al Quads Development Foundation,
Work Without Borders (providing employment opportunities for youths online),
Saeed Educational Centre (providing educational support to schools and student).
This is not an isolated incident, as Israeli authorities have closed 28 organisations serving the Palestine community since 2001.
Can the Commission clarify the following:
How many and which Palestinian NGOs based in Jerusalem have been closed in the last three years?
How many of these NGOs had received funding from the European Union?
