 Subject: The meaning of ‘associated rights’

In the explanation of Article 17(2) of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union(1), the Council states that intellectual property ‘covers not only literary and artistic property but also patent and trademark rights and associated rights’.

What does the Council mean by ‘associated rights’?
