Resurgence of anthrax in Russia

The melting permafrost in Siberia is exposing Russia to new cases of anthrax — a 12-year-old child died from the disease in August. Anthrax is a highly deadly bacteria which poses a health risk not only to Russia but also to neighbouring countries.
Can the Commission provide an assurance that the European Union is protected, as far as possible, from an anthrax resurgence or contagion in connection with climate change?
