E-005375-17
Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 130
Roberta Metsola (PPE)

 Subject:  Simplified food labels
 Answer(s)

A number of actors in the EU, including businesses and consumers alike, deem the EU system of food labelling too complex and bureaucratic.

Is the Commission therefore considering a move towards a more simplified food labelling system, such as that employed by the UK, in order to both enhance the free movement of goods and ensure that consumers are better informed?
