Welcome to the events section

One of STOA's main objectives is to bridge the gap between the scientific community and policy-makers within the European Parliament. It seeks to provide MEPs with information on topical scientific and technological issues relating to Parliament's role as legislator. To this end STOA organises several public events throughout the year.

STOA aims at initiating and facilitating debates on scientific and technological developments of political relevance. For this purpose, it organises public discussions, including workshops, in which politicians and representatives of the scientific community and society at large can discuss and compare different technological options.

To raise public awareness of and interest in science and technology issues, STOA hosts an Annual Lecture, which constitutes the high point of its annual activities, attracting much publicity within the European Parliament and in the outside world.
