IDAHO: EU human rights record will not be satisfactory until homophobia is defeated

Despite the recent steps forward in certain countries, discrimination of the LGBT people in Europe remains worrying. We are rightly proud to be the continent of human rights, tolerance and respect. However, our record will not be satisfactory until discrimination, abuse, violence and harassment linked to sexual orientation is defeated.

The donor conference for development in Mali sends a clear message to all Malians that the international community, its African partners and the European Union, with a leading role played by France, are with them in their struggle for the restoration of peace, democracy and unity in the country. The success of Mali will also be a success for the whole Sahel, Africa and Europe.
