Security and migration were at the at heart of today´s meeting between European Parliament President,  Antonio Tajani, and the Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos. The discussion focused on the concrete solutions that the Parliament and the Commission are working on to provide answers on these main areas of concern for citizens. (Read more)

The EU budget needs to follow our political priorities based on citizens’ concerns. This vote shows we can adapt our long-term budget to new realities. We set funds aside to strengthen security, control immigration flows and create more and better jobs. The President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, spoke to journalists on the dramatic events in Syria and on this morning’s plenary debate and vote on the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union. A resolution passed overwhelmingly with more than 500 votes in favour, clearly providing the Parliament's guidelines ahead of the upcoming negotiations. (Read more)
