Mission of the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani to Niger, 16 to 18 July 2018 
From 16 to 18 July 2018, the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, will visit Niger for an official visit. It will focus on three aspects: security and stability, migration and the need for investments. (Read more)

“Migration is our biggest challenge. It's putting at risk the very future of the European Union’’ said European Parliament President, Antonio Tajani, following a meeting with Austrian Federal Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz. “In the next six months, under the coordination of the Austrian Presidency, the EU and its Member States are called to give concrete answers to the concerns of 500 million citizens. Culture, sport and peace have been linked since ancient times. Just think of the Olympic Games. People came from all over Ancient Greece to watch athletes compete. However, as city-states were often at war, travel was dangerous. So what did they do? They would announce a ‘truce’ before the games to allow people to get to Olympia safely. A political Europe that looks to the future needs a clear vision, geared towards providing effective answers for its citizens. The first change is a political budget, with adequate resources that reflect Europeans’ priorities on security, defence, immigration, unemployment and fighting climate change.
