European Parliament President, Antonio Tajani, addressed today the Extraordinary Conference of the Speakers of EU National parliaments on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. “The European Union is facing one of the most difficult moments in its sixty year history.  Many of our citizens feel that Europe has lost its way, a feeling reinforced by the general climate of uncertainty both inside and outside the EU,” said President Antonio Tajani opening the Conference. European Parliament President, Antonio Tajani, imposes sanctions unprecedented in severity on MEP who offended women 
President Tajani opened the voting session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg announcing the decision to punish Janusz Korwin-Mikke MEP for his declarations against gender equality. President Tajani imposed sanctions unprecedented in severity: the Member will forfeit the daily subsistence allowance for thirty days, will be suspended from parliamentary activities for ten days and be prohibited from representing the Parliament for one year.   (Read more)
