Glossary of the CAP and the Agenda 2000 Reform

01-06-1999

This glossary presents the main terms of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) through a brief description of its objectives, principles and instruments. It gives a clear picture of the recent orientations and reforms, especially with the Agenda 2000 reform. Main changes based on more direct aid payments for price support measures and a coherent rural policy are summarised with an analysis of the priority objectives, the measures accompanying the reforms and the impacts for the sectors concerned (arable crops, beef and veal, milk and dairy products, wine), supported in a second part, by the glossary of the corresponding terminology
