The Colombian peace process

11-01-2016

After several failed attempts, the current peace negotiations with the FARC, initiated in 2012 by Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos are expected to put an end to the conflict, as an agreement was reached in late 2015 on the most difficult issue – victims reparation and justice. The final agreement is planned to be signed on 23 March 2016, however the implementation phase after that could prove difficult, with significant challenges to be overcome.
