This document provides an overview of the region, describes its farming and forestry sector and details the implementation of the new post-2014 CAP in France and in the departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie.

This briefing note is intended for MEPs on the European Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development visiting Bavaria in March 2014. The intention of this paper is to set out Bavaria’s position in a national and European context by providing a general overview of the state and a description of its farming and forestry sector, and ending with a look at CAP implementation in Bavaria.
