Economic, Social and Territorial Situation of the Islands of Corsica and Sardinia

This note provides an overview of general situation of France and Italy, their political, economic and administrative systems, together with a description of European Union support to France and Italy, and their Operational Programmes contained in the National Strategic Reference Frameworks for the period 2007- 2013. Special attention is given to the islands of Corsica and Sardinia, their specific social, economic and territorial characteristic, as well as their cooperation. The note has been prepared in the context of the Committee on Regional Development's delegation to Corsica and Sardinia, 15-17 July 2013.
