With European Parliament Eelections in May, these free CPD sessions that took place at IET Glasgow provided teachers with up-to-date knowledge and free teaching resources for use in the classroom.

The event was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants who took place in the programme below.

Session One: European Parliament teaching resources

9:00am – 10:30am
Find out about two key teaching resources: “EP: What’s That” and “Crisis Point” and how you can use them in the classroom. All delegates will receive free copies of both resources.

Session Two: The European and Scottish Parliaments, what they are and what they do

11:00am – 12:30pm
This session will look at the European and Scottish Parliaments in the context of the wider EU and the UK. We'll ensure that you have all the knowledge you need to teach about these parliaments and look at the resources available for schools. This is also where we answer all your questions.

Session Three: Meet your MEPs

1:30pm – 2:30pm
Meet two of Scotland's MEPs, Ian Hudghton and David Martin. Find out what they do and how they can work with your school and students, followed by a question and answer opportunity.
