The European Parliament, Brexit and Scotland: where do we stand?, Edinburgh - 26 October 2018

We hosted a discussion panel with David Martin MEP, Alyn Smith MEP, and Dr Kirsty Hughes, Director of the Scottish Centre on European Relations (SCER). The panel shared their views about where Scotland stands within the Brexit process as well as the overall Brexit process to date.

Moderated by Charles Fletcher, the discussion focused mainly on the latest round of Brexit negotiations and the challenges they present for an orderly exit. Dr Kirsty Hughes was able to offer an insightful academic perspective on Scotland’s particular position within Brexit negotiations, while MEPs David Martin and Alyn Smith discussed their concerns about the language currently being used by those who support Brexit.
