Sakharov Prize debate at University of Glasgow - 21 November 2018
Students from University of Glasgow hosted, with the support of the European Liaison Office in Edinburgh, a debate on the 2018 Sakharov Prize finalists.
The EPLO visited the University of Glasgow to take part in a debate hosted by a group of students, to discuss this year’s Sakharov Prize nominees. The students were divided into 8 groups, each representing one of the 8 nominees for the prize, in order to debate how and why each candidate has made valuable contributions to support human rights and the broader issues they represent. The debate continued with a discussion on the further implications for human rights and advocacy.
