LUX Prize Film Screening, Stronsay - 17th November 2016
Following the repeated success of the collaboration with Regional Screen Scotland, the European Parliament Information Office in Edinburgh supported a series of LUX Film Prize screenings on the Orkney Islands with the Screen Machine.
The new screening series took off on 17 November, 2016 on Stronsay with Ma Vie de Courgette (2016), a stop-motion animation film directed by Claude Barras retelling the story of Courgette, a nine-year-old orphan boy. When his mother suddenly passes away, Courgette is accompanied by a police officer named Raymond to a foster home filled with other children his age. While at first the new environment is strange, and sometimes hostile, Courgette begins to find his place in this new home thanks to the help of the kind Raymond and his new-found friends.
