The European Parliament Edinburgh Office, in association with the Scottish European Educational Trust, organised the final of the Euroquiz for primary schools.
The final of the competition took place in the Scottish Parliament. Primary pupils from across Scotland were pitted against each other to win the title.Despite challenging questions about the European institutions and Europe in general, which even left some adults in the public gallery scratching their heads, the pupils came through with flying colours.
The winners of the quiz were Crossford Primary School from Dunfermline.
In his introductory speech Per Johansson, Head of EP Edinburgh Office, outlined the rules of the quiz. He also revealed the correct answers at the end of each round and kept score during the final round between the two top schools. Deputy Presiding Officer John Scott MSP acted as quiz master, with Struan Stevenson MEP chairing the EU round.
