Anual Public Speaking Competition in Aberdeen
On 23 February, eight teams participated in a public speaking for local schools competition organised by Europe Direct Aberdeen. In the semi-final, teams debated whether or not the EU should make better use of social media to communicate with young people and in the final the question of whether compulsory language exchanges for all Scottish school children should be introduced was the topic. Judges included Ian Hudghton MEP and representatives of the European Commission, which funds Europe Direct Centres.
