Opportunity Europe and Beyond
Following the success of last year's event, we participated in the Opportunity Europe Fair and Exhibition for schools and colleges again this autumn. The event targeted an invited post-primary schools/colleges audience.
The event took place at St George’s Market in Belfast and aimed to highlight opportunities in Europe and beyond, and connections with Northern Ireland across a range of sectors, including education, youth, local government, business and employment. A varied programme of activities including music, drama, dance, language tasters, volunteering opportunities and multicultural workshops was offered.
All visitors to the event received a "passport" with spaces for a signature to be applied only when they answer a question or complete a task set by the exhibitor. Completed passports went into a draw for a range of prizes.
The exhibition and fair was organised and supported by a wide range of organisations including Belfast City Council, the Northern Ireland Centre for Information on Language Teaching and Research at Queen's University, the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister and Volunteer Now.
The European Parliament Information Office in Edinburgh was happy to be present alongside the delegation from the European Commission.
