Internship Fair in Glasgow

On 11 October 2011, the European Parliament Office in Edinburgh attended the Internship Fair at the University of Glasgow to provide students with information on the European Parliament's traineeship options. It engaged with students from a variety of academic and cultural backgrounds to answer questions about the opportunities to gain work experience in Brussels and Luxemburg and informed about the different options and requirements.

Over two hundred students stopped at the European Parliament Office's stall, placed among more than forty exhibitors. Among the most frequently asked questions were those inquiring about foreign language skills, the place of the internship and options during the summer months. It became apparent that a good knowledge of another European language besides English is highly valuable for gaining work experience with the European Parliament.

More information on the European Parliament's traineeship options can be found here. General information about traineeships and employment in the European Union's institutions is available on the European Personnel Selection Office's website.
