Committee highlights:
Women's Day
Parliament hosts a seminar for journalists on Wednesday and a meeting with national parliaments on women and the crisis on Thursday, ahead of International Women's Day on 8 March.
Myanmar
President Thein Sein and foreign minister U Wunna Maung Lwin visit Parliament to discuss latest developments in Myanmar (Burma). The minister will debate with foreign affairs committee MEPs. (Tuesday)
Bahrain
Human rights and foreign affairs MEPs will discuss the latest situation in Bahrain with members of the country's Council of Representatives. The debate follows MEPs' fact-finding visit in December and their condemnation of human rights violations in a resolution adopted by Parliament in January. (Thursday)
Plenary preparation
Parliament's political groups will prepare for the plenary session in Strasbourg, which will feature addresses by Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and Israel's President Shimon Peres, a vote to underline Parliament's position on the EU's long-term budget, the formal vote on a deal with Council on budgetary discipline ("two-pack") and a decision on a mandate to open negotiations with member states on agriculture policy reform.
