TTIP, biofuels and cross-border payment claims - this week in the European Parliament
MEPs return to Brussels on 13th April for a mixed week of Committee meetings and plenary on Wednesday 15th April. The plenary is when Members of the European Parliament from all political groups and from all countries meet in the parliamentary chamber to discuss and vote on legislation.
Highlights
TTIP. Ahead of the vote in May, a number of committees will vote on their opinions on the amendments tabled by the committee on International Trade. (Tuesday and Thursday)
Biofuels. The committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will vote on legislation to cap the production of traditional biofuels in favour of alternative sources. (Tuesday)
Cross-border payment claims. The committee on Legal Affairs votes on improvement on legislation helping consumers and SMEs to enforce cross-border small claims by raising the limit from approximately £1400 to £7000. (Thursday)
