MEPs return to Brussels on 1st June for a mixed week of Committee and Political Group meetings ahead of the Plenary next week.
Highlights
LuxLeaks & tax avoidance: The international dimension of tax rulings will be debated by the special committee on tax rulings. Speakers will include former Competition and Tax Commissioner Mario Monti, Luxembourg whistle-blower Antoine Deltour and Tax Transparency Network founder Richard Murphy (Monday)
Animal and public health: Parliament and Council Presidency negotiators will try to reach agreement on a European Law on Transmissible Animal Diseases. The legislation would establish for the first time the link between animal welfare and public health and allow urgent measures to be passed to tackle outbreaks of diseases (Monday)
Sharing passenger data: Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will debate changes to the draft legislation that would oblige airlines to hand over Passenger Name Records data to member state authorities. (Thursday)
