Calling all young journalists - European Youth Media Days 2017


Are you a budding journalism talent? Always chasing the next big scoop? Got opinions worth sharing? Then European Youth Media Days 2017 are for you!

We invite you to take part in three days of workshops, discussions and hands-on exercises in Brussels. The event is an unmissable chance to get insight into the world of European politics and international media, meet politicians and share tricks of the trade with established journalists

This year a special focus will be on media literacy and rise of populism. We will be talking with professional journalists, Members of the European Parliament and experts in the field in the hope to have a constructive debate on how the challenges faced today by the European and global media.

We are looking for both team members and participants to join this year's event.

The event is open to young journalists who are citizens or legal residents of the EU Member States and neighbouring countries (see more here:
The event will be held in English, so a working level of the language is required.
Please apply on the relevant website (see links below) Highlight your relevant education (journalism, media and communication) and working experience, motivation and insert two links to media samples of your work (of any type) by August 20 (midnight CET) . Please don’t send us any application documents via e-mail, as we cannot take them into consideration.

The small print:
If selected, your travel costs will be reimbursed by the European Parliament. Specific conditions will be sent to you when you have been selected to take part.
You will have to arrange your own accommodation and travel and provide the necessary documents to the European Parliament for reimbursement.
